Welcome to my website -- where you can share my passion for bringing new musicals to life!
I started as a musical theater performer at age 13. I trained and worked as an actor, director and singer. I was also privileged to have been the first Executive Director of Chicago's acclaimed Steppenwolf Theater Company. I left them to strike out on my own as a performer. I started writing songs and singing in cabarets in my early 20's. I left stage acting to work as a makeup artist in theater and film, and sometimes casting director, before turning primarily to a non-theatrical career in permanent cosmetics. I joined the Academy for New Musical Theater, now New Musicals, Inc., in Los Angeles and started writing and developing my musicals. I am now the composer, lyricist, libretti (or co-author) of three new musical theater projects in development. 've recently returned to the musical theater stage as a performer and director, and I can be heard singing on demos of all my shows. As a graduate of the Commercial Theater Institute 14 week program, I am now bringing my producer skills back into play to help new musicals get out into the world. As Hamlet says, "The readiness is all!"
